Where did the old Pokemon go? Empty Where did the old Pokemon go?

Not counting Kanto, Unova was the first region to not feature any old Pokemon available until beating the main story or obtaining them in a trade. This often forced players to play with the new Pokemon until the post-game where they could eventually obtain old Pokemon from other games.

So, how did you feel about Nintendo's decision to only have new Pokemon available until the end of the main story? Discuss!
